Sound and Vibration Testing

Sound and Vibration Measurement, Assessment, & Reporting

Assess the condition of rotating mechanical and electrical equipment to determine if sound or vibration may be in excess of specificaitons. If it is not within specifications, results can be:

  • Annoyance to building occupants
  • Unstable sensitive equipement
  • Not in compliance with municipal codes
  •  Accelerated wear due to problems such as misalignment, imbalance, bent or loose components, and friciton

The Importance of Sound and Vibration Analysis

Sound and Vibration analysis is one of the best forms of preventative care.

Analysis can prevent hazardous levels of sound and vibration and reactively evaluate the root cause of a product or system failure.

Third Coast’s state of the art equipement is defining the difference between us and the competitors.

With bluetooth wireless technology we are able to quickly and acurately assess and report deficiencies.

The reports consist of:

Equipement used

A narrative description of system set-up conditions established prior to testing and rational for system parameters

List of deficiencies

Date and time of test in combitation with equipment, operational parameters, and measurement locations

Sound measurements- DB level of background noise, dB level of operating system, measurement locations

Vibration measurements- acceleration, velocity, displacement peak-to-peak
